It’s been an amazing year! Special thanks to my 2021-2022 Board of Directors and all those that have given their time, talent, and treasure in service to our community!
Peter Burns of the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!)
The Young Entrepreneurs Academy, or YEA!, is a groundbreaking educational program that takes students ages 11 to 18 through the process of starting and running real businesses/social movements over the course of a full academic year.
Students work in close cooperation with local industry leaders, community members, and educators to develop ideas and objectives, write business plans, pitch to potential investors, register with governmental agencies, develop their brand identity, participate in a tradeshow, and much more!
The Frisco Chamber of Commerce was the first chamber of commerce in Texas to offer the Young Entrepreneurs Academy. YEA! was originally launched at the University of Rochester in 2004. With support from the Kauffman Foundation in 2008, YEA! spun off from the university level and was offered to local chambers of commerce to help bridge the gap between an area’s education and business communities. YEA! continues on a path of sustained growth, and is well on its way to making experiential entrepreneurship education available to students in each and every corner of our great country. YEA! continues to empower each and every student across the nation to embrace their passion, live their dream, and change the world!
Congratulations! Will Russell

Backpack Drive for FISD Kids
Hello Rotarians,
FISD students will be heading to school in a few weeks, and all of them need backpacks. Sadly, some students' families are unable to afford backpacks. Thankfully, our Rotary Club can help.
If you are able, please purchase a backpack and bring it to our club meeting on 7/14. We are shopping for kids in K - 12th grade.
These links to Wal-Mart and Target will take you to backpack product pages if you'd like to shop online (the last day for backpack collection is 7/16).
If you'd rather make a cash donation, I should have a link for that by EOD Monday and will share it once I have it.
For those of you who'd like to help with the backpack drive (details below) but aren't able to shop, here's a link established by Union Mortgage & MOH for making a cash donation: https://secure.qgiv.com/event/2pbp/account/1308681. The donations will be used to purchase backpacks and supplies for FISD Kids.
I have to be out of town on Thursday so Charlie will be collecting backpacks at the 7/14 meeting on behalf of our club (thanks Charlie!).
