Mitzi Chollampel
DFW Airport Update

Mitzi Chollampel was recently promoted to Assistant Vice President of Community Engagement of DFW International Airport. Mitzi is responsible for developing, implementing, and refining programs and projects that help the Airport demonstrate a visible and meaningful presence in the DFW community and aviation industry. She also directs Board and Owner City relations, the Official Board Action (OBA) process, and leads the development of the annual Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report. Mitzi has been at the Airport for over 14 years, most recently as the Senior Manager of Communications and Marketing. Mitzi was  responsible for airport marketing in both domestic and international markets. In addition to supporting sales efforts to recruit both cargo and passenger airlines, she oversaw all communications to increase inbound traffic to DFW by leading the Marketing team. As part of her role, Ms. Chollampel led eight international delegations with city and Airport leaders to further DFW’s message abroad. 

Prior to her role at DFW Airport, Ms. Chollampel’s unique background includes working at Procter & Gamble, the Office of the Governor in Texas under George W Bush, and Scandinavian Airlines Systems.

Active in her local community, Ms. Chollampel was a board member of Fort Worth Sister Cities International and involved in the US-India Chamber of Commerce (DFW). She currently serves as the Programming chair on the AT&T Performing Arts Center Board of Directors. She is a 2017 recipient of the Dallas Business Journal Women in Business award, has been named to the 2018 Top 40 Under 40 list for Airport Business publication, and a member of Leadership Dallas 2018.

Shel holds a MBA with a focus in organizational strategy from the University of Texas at Dallas, as well as a BBA in marketing from The University of Texas at Austin.

Ms. Chollampel lives in Carrollton with her husband, John, who is currently Secretary of the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Rotary club,  and their three children. Mitzi's father CC Theophine Chamakala, is a past president of the Rotary Club of McKinney and has been a Rotarian since 1990. He now serves as RI District 5810 Global Grant Chairman.
