Big Game

Jun 02, 2022 12:00 PM

Big Game Football Factory:  WE MAKE THE MOST IMPORTANT OBJECT IN AMERICA'S FAVORITE GAME

Chris Calandro wanted to reward his high school football coaches with a keepsake ball after their state finalist finish. Calandro took his project to several of the large football manufacturers, but they all turned down his order of only six footballs. Determined, Chris started to dabble with his own unconventional screen-printing process, and in his words, “ended up getting a patent for imaging on footballs.”

Chris set up his factory in Dallas and his team now produces roughly 1,000 footballs by hand each day. Many of those balls are for offcial game-play, however Big Game also has a booming business in commemorative footballs. These balls can be made of virtually any material desired. Many of our trophy balls become awards and mementos for pro and collegiate football players.

Packing HOPE Kits for NBCF

Jun 09, 2022 12:00 PM

*** Packing HOPE Kits for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. ***

Support Services are a tangible way to show breast cancer patients that we are there every step of their journey. A huge part of this support is the NBCF HOPE Kit Program. We will help reach the goal of packing 2,000 HOPE Kits on one day.

When the program was started 1,500 breast cancer patients were surveyed and asked what items would be helpful while going through treatment. NBCF created the HOPE Kit, a care package filled with thoughtful items, which patients have found to be comforting and encouraging while undergoing breast cancer treatment.

Frisco Young Entrepreneurs Academy

Jul 14, 2022 12:00 PM

The Young Entrepreneurs Academy, or YEA!, is a groundbreaking educational program that takes students ages 11 to 18 through the process of starting and running real businesses/social movements over the course of a full academic year.

Students work in close cooperation with local industry leaders, community members, and educators to develop ideas and objectives, write business plans, pitch to potential investors, register with governmental agencies, develop their brand identity, participate in a tradeshow, and much more!

The Frisco Chamber of Commerce was the first chamber of commerce in Texas to offer the Young Entrepreneurs Academy. YEA! was originally launched at the University of Rochester in 2004. With support from the Kauffman Foundation in 2008, YEA! spun off from the university level and was offered to local chambers of commerce to help bridge the gap between an area’s education and business communities. YEA! continues on a path of sustained growth, and is well on its way to making experiential entrepreneurship education available to students in each and every corner of our great country.  YEA! continues to empower each and every student across the nation to embrace their passion, live their dream, and change the world!
