Iwo Jima survivor
Feb. 15, 2018
Don Graves was one of 118 Marines who walked off the island out of the 338 who landed in his unit. A 19 year old who weighed 140 pounds, they strapped a 70 pound flame thrower on his back and he landed to help the fight to Mt Suribachi. In fact, he was just out of the camera view of famous photo of the Marines raising the flag. This will be a stirring reminder that the freedom we enjoy carries a cost; please invite guests to hear this incredible piece of living history. |
